Part of a professional driveway repair service involves first assessing and inspecting the concrete slab. Understanding the nature and severity of the damage to the concrete is key here. The goal must be to determine if sub-slab conditions need repair or if the damage is just superficial.
If there are sub-slab conditions that need to be fixed, this may involve the removal of concrete or injection of foam to lift the concrete as required. However, for very serious concrete structural damage to a driveway, removal and replacement is typically the best option.
Alternatively, for smaller jobs, a crack filler and resurfacing may be all that is needed to not only prolong the structural integrity of a concrete driveway slab but bring the slab back to an attractive aesthetic.
If there is serious concrete repairs are required, parts of the concrete driveway slab can be removed in sections. Replacement of the slab, with the proper reinforcement, doweling said rebar into the existing slab, and then pouring fresh sections is a solution.
